Gorilla bust cast. Full size adult
This Gorilla death mask was originally made by Carl Akeley on location in the Congo region of Africa in 1921. He affectionately named this particular primate "The Lone Male of Karisimbi". The mounted animal is still on exhibit in the African Hall at the American Museum of Natural History.
